תמצית הקורס ומטרותיו:
הקורס יעסוק בהתפתחות האמנות הפלסטינית מראשית המאה ה-19 ועד ימינו, עם דגש על אמנות פלסטינית עכשווית. הוא יתבסס על הצגת יצירות מתחום האמנות החזותית על כל גווניה: ציור, רישום, פיסול, מיצג, מיצב, צילום ועוד. במהלך הקורס נתעמק בשאלות מרכזיות אשר אמנים פלסטינים מנסים לברר דרך עבודותיהם, ולשאול כיצד הדבר נעשה בהקשר הפוליטי המורכב שבו הם חיים, על פי חלוקה גיאו-פוליטית: כאזרחים בתוך ישראל, בשטחי הרשות הפלסטינית, ברחבי העולם הערבי ומחוצה לו. תועלנה שאלות הקשורות גם במרחב הרב-תרבותי שבו אמנים פלסטינים פועלים כיום. נייחד דיון לקשר בין מעמד האישה בחברה הערבית והשתקפותו ביצירות מתחום האמנות החזותית. דגש מיוחד יושם על מאווייהן של נשים יוצרות ועל דרכי הבעתן הייחודית בזיקה לביקורת פמיניסטית על החברה.
תקציר באנגלית:
This course will cover the development of Palestinian art from the early 19th century to today, with a focus on contemporary works. It will examine various forms of visual art, including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, performance, and photography. The course will explore the central themes Palestinian artists address through their work and consider how these themes are shaped by their geopolitical environment—whether in Israel, territories of the Palestinian Authority, across the Arab world, or elsewhere. Discussions will also consider the multicultural space in which Palestinian artists operate today and will examine the status of women in Arab society and its reflection in visual art. Special attention will be given to women artists’ perspectives and their distinctive expression of feminist critique within their society.
